Hà Nội 12/2023-1/2024, 21°01’39.2″N 105°51’08.7″E

I was impressed with Hanoi. Saying it was busy would be an understatement. And the color could be overwhelming. Also, bikes. Lots of bikes.

The train coming down the famous “train street”
Being tourists
You think the train is close, but it is even closer than that.
We walked around this lake dozens of times before I settled on this shot.
I’m not sure what these were but millions were for sale.
Bikes everywhere.
Tentacle on a stick.
Playing with Lenin.

Ha Long Bay, 12/2023 20.724258, 107.049399

We ended up staying in and around Cat Ba Island for about 5 days. It was wonderful. I took more photos than one would believe possible. Here are a couple but it hurt not to include a lot more.

Mid morning fog.
Sunset.
It never stormed properly but it did look like it might
The morning of my first day on the bay
I took this from the 2nd highest outcropping in the bay, it was not a fun hike but the view!
Vietnamese Fish Eagle! These guys were everywhere and the locals think they are a nuisance

Medium sized views of Slovenia (not my best title) June/July 23

I know it’s arbitrary, what is big vs medium, but here are some medium shots…

This the small entrance compared to the huge exit in the “Big” post
Very old drapes
Field above grant
There are so many stunning waterfalls and gorges that I nearly walked by this one
I feel like that rock has to fall one day
Maybe this gorge photo should count as big?
I took this at 15mm just to get the whole roof in, but it looks much more vertical than it was
Just a stunning place with wonderful wine
One b&w for my friends at the weekend in black and white
Even the gutters were fashioned out stone

Big Slovenia! June/July 2023

The Schlinks hit up Slovenia for about three weeks this summer. I took a lot of photos. Think about how much that might be and, double it. So I decided to do a few posts categorized by how big the subjects were, here are the big ones!

Yangiobod Bazaar! September, 2022 41°15’30.3″N 69°21’09.2″E

Yangiobod is a huge bazaar where you can buy just about anything…

Margo getting her Spies Like Us-style
Bizarre traffic at the Bazaar
Tons of taxidermy!
So many pins!
It’s true, they had newspapers
I don’t know what I would do with one, but I did kind of want one.
Need a Lenin?
How about someone else?
