Slovenia by iPhone Summer, 2025
Recently, I was in market for a new phone and a new underwater camera. In the end I decided to buy an iPhone 16 pro and scuba housing. I don’t dive enough to need a camera strictly for diving and the housing I bought is rated to 130 feet. I started my photo habit on… Read more

Angkor Wat and around in color 13°24’46.8″N 103°51’56.6″E January 2024
My family and I have been fortunate to be able to see a lot of the world. Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples were about the most impressive place I have been. I would love to go back. I took about 2,000 photos there and it was hard to pick which photos to post. I hope you… Read more

Hồ Chí Minh 10°46’17.2″N 106°41’54.4″E December, 2023

Hà Nội 12/2023-1/2024, 21°01’39.2″N 105°51’08.7″E
I was impressed with Hanoi. Saying it was busy would be an understatement. And the color could be overwhelming. Also, bikes. Lots of bikes.

Tiny Slovenia June/July 2023

Big Slovenia! June/July 2023
The Schlinks hit up Slovenia for about three weeks this summer. I took a lot of photos. Think about how much that might be and, double it. So I decided to do a few posts categorized by how big the subjects were, here are the big ones!

The Aral Sea, October, 2021 44°52’46.3″N 58°11’29.3″E
The Aral Sea used to be the 4th largest freshwater lake in the world. There is not a lot left and is, is so salty only a certain species of tiny shrimp actually live, allegedly (I did not see any). What’s left starkly beautiful, if tragic. In some ways it reminded me of the Etosha… Read more

Photos that did not make the cut. All over the place, 2020
I lug my camera and assorted equipment all over the place and take thousands of photos a year (counting on the law of averages to get some keepers). Here are some photos that did not make the cut in 2020. In the mean time, please check in from time to time. I have a good… Read more

Samarkand (and around) Thanksgiving, 2020 39°39’17.6″N 66°58’32.3″E-ish
We just returned from our first trip Samarkand-there will be more- and it completely lived up to its billing. So much so, that I had trouble fitting everything I wanted into any given shot. As such I used a fisheye lens with 180 degrees worth of visibility (every now and then I accidentally include my… Read more

More of Tashkent in Black and White November, 2020 41°19’05.7″N 69°16’09.8″E
Last weekend we got snow here in Tashkent, which I am told is not normal. we took advantage to go out into the city and take a long winter walk. We will go to Samarkand soon, and there will be color! But in the mean time, Winter lends itself nicely to B&W.

Garganta del Diablo, February 2016, 41°11’17.9″S 71°50’15.5″W
We visited here on a day trip from Bariloche and it is well worth it. By the time we got there the sun was pretty much directly overhead, making photography somewhat tricky.
